Saturday Night Fun with Mommy Matt!

"Molly, would you pass me that bottle of pink nail polish?" Mommy Matt asked.

"Which one?" I asked. "Pomegranate Passion or Fun Fuschia?"

"Pomegranate Passion," Mommy Matt decided. "It brings out my eyes." I nodded in agreement and tossed him the polish. Every Saturday night Mommy Matt and I do something fun together. It's so...fun!! Tee, hee. This week we were painting our toenails. I had chosen black to make a statement and Mommy Matt was doing pink, of course. His toenails are always painted pink. Daddy Mohinder was in the kitchen making brownies to eat while our nails dried.

"So," said Mommy Matt suggestively. "Do you have any...love interests, Molly?" I narrowed my eyes at him. How did he know about my little crush on Mr. Muggles? Mommy Matt rolled his eyes. "In case you forgot, I can read minds, remember? I'm talking about a human, not a dog. Everyone loves Mr. Muggles." I blushed, embarrassed.

"Oh," I said quickly. "I knew that. Um...no. But Mr. Muggles is so cute!"

"I know!" squealed Mommy Matt. We both started giggling and talking about that cutie, Mr. Muggles. Just then Daddy Mohinder came in and announced in a jumble of long, confusing words that the brownies were ready. Then he saw my toenails.

"Molly!" he exclaimed in that awesome Indian accent of his, the smell of his cologne wafting over (he smells so good). "It is inappropriate for someone of your youth to bear such an improper hue on your toenails!" I looked at Mommy Matt, but he didn't know either, so we broke out the dictionary. Several minutes later, it became clear that Daddy Mohinder did not want me wearing black toenail polish.

"Get over it, Daddy," I said, rolling my eyes. "All the kids are wearing black nail polish!"

"If all the kids jumped off a bridge, would you jump off after them?" he asked. I was so surprised that he had used such normal, not-huge words that I almost didn't understand what he said. Finally it registered on me.

"Uhh...no?" I said, making it sound like a question. Before Daddy Mohinder could say anything else that would give Mommy Matt and I headaches, I put on my furry monkey socks with the pom poms and the issue was resolved (for now). We went into the kitchen to eat our brownies. I love Saturday night!
